The Kihei Youth Center was selected by the Rotary Club of Kahului to be the beneficiary of a $10,000 Weinberg Grant.  As a condition of this grant we all worked together on September 25th, 2009 with the Rotary Clubs of Kahului, Kihei Sunrise and Kihei-Wailea.  It was  a fun day and great benefit for our Youth Center.

The KYC MERITS Program expands on an informal, after-school homework assistance program that was initiated in response to requests from several youth members and parents.  The initial program involved enlisting volunteer mentors from the community to be available at the Youth Center on a semi-regular basis to assist individual youth members in completing their daily homework assignments.  As this program evolved, it became apparent that
